
The LSG captain Rishabh Pant began his Indian Premier League journey in 2016 soon after the Under-19 World Cup in which the Uttarakhand boy played a scintillating knock of 111(96) to take the team into the semi-final. Notably, Pant was acquired by Delhi Capitals for INR 1.9 crore on the same day he played that innings.
The southpaw’s numbers in the first season were not considerable, however, he lit up the league in the next two coming into his own. After scoring 366 runs in 14 innings in 2017 which included two fifties and 24 sixes, DC retained the wicketkeeper-batter who saw his salary rise to INR 8 crore. The 2018 edition turned out to be Pant’s best ever as the then youngster amassed 684 runs in 14 innings at a strike rate of 173.60.
